This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Formulate and implement strategies aimed at enhancing the acquisition of new merchants and transitioning current merchants to Lightspeed Payments and Capital users.
• Manage relationships with prominent card brands and essential financial services providers on a global scale, establishing collaborative business plans with defined priorities and accountability.
• Partner with teams in Strategy, Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to advance partnership initiatives.
• Determine partner priorities and spearhead innovation, product development, geographic expansion, co-marketing efforts, and additional revenue opportunities.
• Enhance payment economics, focusing on margin growth, approval performance, partner efficiencies, and commercial agreements.
• Direct negotiations and commercial arrangements with card brands, acquirers, and key payment partners.
• Keep abreast of scheme rules, regulatory changes, and market trends as the subject-matter expert in the payments ecosystem.
• Represent Lightspeed in external engagements and foster new strategic partnership relationships.
• Ensure alignment with partners, measurable success metrics, enhanced margins and approval rates, timely product launches, increased merchant satisfaction and retention, and the delivery of substantial strategic value.
• Over 5 years of experience managing major payment providers such as Fiserv, Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, and Worldpay.
• More than 3 years of experience managing relationships with card brands like Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
• At least 5 years of experience in shaping financial services strategies within fintech, card-network, acquiring, or payments sectors.
• Over 3 years of experience supporting the launch of financial services products, capabilities, or geographic expansions.
• More than 5 years of practical knowledge regarding card network dynamics, acquiring models, payments economics, and the overarching payments value chain.
• Proficient in engaging at an executive level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capable of working independently and taking accountability within a matrixed organization.
• Possess strong commercial instincts, analytical rigor, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to execution details.
• Skilled at presenting ideas, making recommendations, and constructively influencing decisions.
• Demonstrated determination, adaptability, and a proactive, action-oriented mindset.
