Strategic Communications Specialist / Marketing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create communication plans and calendars for events within 30 calendar days of award and revise them as event timelines change.

• Synchronize messaging and timing with event milestones, registration periods, and Government priorities.

• Compose invitations, registration confirmations, reminders, communications for speakers, event details, and follow-up messages for Government review and approval.

• Develop or update fact sheets, information papers, talking points, event guides, draft content for social media, and web-ready material.

• Prepare detailed digital event guides for both in-person and virtual participants, covering dates, times, locations, session descriptions, and meeting links.

• Assist in the preparation of speaker biographies, briefing materials, and presentation content.

• Create and manage email campaigns and branded content for event websites using the event management platform.

• Coordinate targeted outreach to potential attendees, registered participants, speakers, industry partners, and small-business audiences.

• Draft post-event communications, including thank-you notes, survey invitations, and follow-up materials.

• Ensure all communications receive Government approval prior to release, avoiding any unauthorized public dissemination.

• Oversee copy editing and quality reviews for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and style.

• Verify that all products comply with Section 508 standards before final submission for acceptance.

• Monitor the effectiveness of communications by tracking registration, attendance, surveys, web, and social metrics.

• Contribute to communications results and recommendations for post-event summaries, lessons learned, and status reports.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of three years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, or public affairs, ideally supporting events.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the capability to adjust tone for executive, Federal, and industry audiences.

• Experience in managing email campaigns and digital communications via event or marketing platforms.

• Ability to handle multiple deliverables within a review and approval framework.

• Eligibility to work in the United States and successfully complete an HHS background investigation.

• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and plain language guidelines.

• Experience in developing social media content and analyzing communications metrics.
