
Strategic Alliance – Business Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the prospecting and acquisition of new business opportunities with pharmaceutical and industry clients.
• Manage the negotiation process for new contracts and agreements with industry partners.
• Oversee the lifecycle management of partnerships and projects, encompassing initiation, contracting, order creation, documentation, and deliverables to external stakeholders.
• Represent Adaptive in external settings and deliver scientific presentations to uncover new opportunities.
• Contribute towards achieving corporate goals related to new bookings and recognized revenue.
• Collaborate across functions to manage and fulfill deal commitments.
• Support business development strategies and initiatives.
• Identify, develop, negotiate, and finalize strategic business opportunities with industry and institutional partners.
• Enhance Adaptive’s partnerships with biopharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
• Manage customer engagements from project initiation to completion, ensuring successful delivery and a positive client experience.
• Execute other assigned duties as needed.
• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience in the academic and biotech industry; candidates holding a PhD with 2 years of post-doctoral industry experience will also be considered.
• Proven history of successfully closing transactions.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, including R&D, Commercial, Legal, IP, Finance, and Operations.
• Exceptional written communication skills.
• Proficient in technical computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Capability to operate within a matrix environment and leverage cross-functional resources.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating sound independent judgment.
• Enthusiastic, driven, and energetic in fostering internal and external partnerships.
• Strong independent strategic thinking and advanced complex problem-solving skills.
• Interest in working within an early-stage company environment.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Clinical Lab, Client Services, Business Development, or Alliance Management.
• Preferred: PhD in immunology, cancer biology, or a relevant scientific field.
• Preferred: Experience in cellular immunology/biology, PCR, or NGS-based assays.
• Preferred: Familiarity with clinical trials operations/design.
