This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Oversee initiatives for new business development and growth within significant K-12 education accounts across the United States.
• Establish and nurture relationships as the main executive-level contact in the California/Nevada region.
• Initiate, cultivate, and sustain connections with high-ranking district decision-makers.
• Enhance the adoption of Lexia’s literacy portfolio and collaborate with district leadership to promote systemic improvements in reading outcomes.
• Create, manage, and implement a territory plan aimed at achieving quota and strategic objectives.
• Develop a long-term account strategy that aligns with customer goals, funding priorities, and instructional initiatives.
• Facilitate consultative sales engagements with senior education leaders.
• Position Lexia’s offerings against competitors by leveraging differentiated value, research-based results, and successful implementation narratives.
• Craft strategic proposals and multi-year implementation plans in collaboration with internal teams.
• Analyze territory data, education policies, funding cycles, trends, and market conditions.
• Identify new buying centers within existing accounts to promote expansion and growth.
• Generate, expand, and sustain a pipeline of high-value opportunities.
• Actively engage high-potential accounts to become the preferred provider.
• Forecast new business and expansion revenue.
• Monitor sales activities, opportunities, and outcomes using Salesforce and other productivity tools.
• Share market insights and strategic feedback with sales leadership.
• Serve as an executive sponsor and trusted advisor to senior district leaders.
• Represent Lexia at conferences, trade shows, and educational events.
• Provide thought leadership on literacy trends, funding strategies, and instructional innovation.
• Manage multi-stakeholder sales engagements involving substantial, multi-year contracts and multi-product solutions.
• Deliver thought leadership presentations at trade shows and conferences.
• Travel up to 80% and utilize virtual tools to maintain sales activity and stakeholder engagement.
• Candidates must reside and work within California or Nevada, United States.
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• At least 10 years of proven experience in business development, sales, and account management is necessary.
• Demonstrated success in selling to large, complex Pre-K to 12 schools and/or school districts is highly preferred.
• Educational leadership experience at the State Department of Education, regional education center, school district, or school level is preferred.
• Experience in selling or working with a technology-based curriculum product; Literacy/Reading products are highly preferred.
• Exceptional understanding of the Science of Reading and the literacy landscape around named strategic accounts.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the assigned geographical territory and existing contacts within K-12 education.
• Strong understanding of education funding models and procurement processes.
• Experience in navigating multi-stakeholder environments and political landscapes within educational systems.
• Proven skills in strategic planning, forecasting, and pipeline management.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive-level decision-makers.
• Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and propose solutions to secure new business opportunities and meet revenue targets.
• A consistent and successful track record of closing business, building, and managing a pipeline of opportunities in large, complex districts.
• Proficient in using CRM (Salesforce), MS Office, Google Suites, video conferencing software, and other technology-driven productivity tools.
• Exceptional ability to customize messaging for diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with management on strategies to achieve new revenue goals.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight stays.
• A reliable cable or fiber-optic broadband connection with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required for remote work.
• Active participation in video-based interviews and ongoing virtual meetings with the camera on is expected.
