Store Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee the performance of the iKhokha Store and its branches

• Enhance sales and activation metrics

• Execute and manage in-branch marketing initiatives

• Support staff routing for outbound activities

• Generate revenue opportunities that align with iKhokha objectives

• Oversee branch P&L while managing a team of five branch personnel

• Represent and promote the iKhokha brand and culture

• Advocate for iKhokha within the local community

• Provide outstanding customer service and maintain store relationships

• Conduct interviews, recruit, and train employees

• Implement performance management systems

• Manage first-level HR and IR functions

• Monitor daily staff productivity

• Oversee in-store inventory, including weekly stock takes and cycle counting

• Maintain the asset register for equipment and branding materials

• Utilize POS systems for inventory management

• Report weekly and monthly store performance to internal stakeholders

• Share survey results and feedback regarding in-store activities

• Provide market insights for the assigned area

⛳️ Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) is mandatory

• An Undergraduate Degree is advantageous

• At least 3+ years of experience in a Store Manager or a similar position

• Excellent interpersonal and people management abilities, capable of coaching and motivating direct reports

• Experience in informal market retail and retail operations

• Knowledge of informal markets and in-branch retail dynamics

• Strong commercial skills and business insight

• Ability to achieve sales, marketing, and customer service objectives

• Proficient in MS Office

• Excellent communication skills

• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans; knowledge of Xhosa is a plus

• Proven track record of managing sales performance against set targets

• Valid driver’s license and personal transportation

• Clear criminal and credit history

• Experience in informal-market banking branches, cellular retail, FMCG, or alcohol industries is a plus

• Basic understanding of key stakeholders within the designated store location
