Staff Software Engineer – Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and steer the technical vision for the quality platform and testing strategy.

• Influence the implementation of automated testing, CI/CD quality gates, contract validation, and quality intelligence across engineering teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

• Collaborate closely with the Head of Quality, Quality Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Foundation/Platform Engineering teams to integrate quality into our design, development, validation, and software release processes.

• Establish the quality architecture and validation frameworks to ensure that AI-assisted, agentic, and specification-driven development practices are safe, measurable, reliable, and scalable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Software Engineering in test (SET/SDET) or related platform-quality engineering roles.

• Extensive experience in designing and constructing scalable test infrastructure, developer tools, or quality platform capabilities utilized across multiple teams and systems.

• Strong software engineering foundation with a focus on platform engineering, developer productivity tools, test infrastructure, or automation frameworks.

• Experience in engineering environments where teams are accountable for product quality and automated testing throughout the development lifecycle.

• Profound understanding of CI/CD methodologies, quality gates, release governance, and modern software delivery pipelines.

• Demonstrated ability to establish engineering standards, testing contracts, and integration patterns that support consistency and scalability among teams.

• Experience in formulating and executing testing strategies across distributed systems, multiple domains, or large-scale engineering organizations.

• Strong architectural judgment with a practical, outcome-oriented approach to technical decision-making.

• Capability to influence engineers, technical leads, and engineering leadership without direct authority.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working cross-functionally in Quality, Engineering, Foundation/Platform Engineering, and Delivery organizations.

• Relevant technical skills may include languages such as TypeScript, Kotlin, Java, Python, or Go; testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured, or similar; as well as platform technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, AWS, or equivalent cloud infrastructure.
