This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide leadership for technical direction in both local and remote development settings, which encompass ephemeral environments, image-based provisioning, health checks, and optimizing the inner development loop.
• Guide the technical direction for CI pipeline infrastructure, focusing on commit-to-feedback loops, CI reliability, failure diagnostics, reduction of flaky tests, and validation through early shifts.
• Take ownership of the architecture and development of pre-production environments, ensuring staging stability, service-owner accountability, and the availability of parallel end-to-end validation environments.
• Enhance the reliability and resilience of git infrastructure at a monorepo scale while implementing disaster recovery strategies.
• Promote the advancement of AI-driven developer tools, AI-assisted code reviews, agentic development workflows, and parallel AI session platforms.
• Conceptualize and lead multi-quarter initiatives aimed at improving developer velocity, CI reliability, pre-production health, and local development practices.
• Own and monitor developer experience metrics to guide investment priorities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and product engineering teams to implement platform changes with minimal disruption.
• Establish technical standards related to reliability, performance, upgrade cadence, and developer ergonomics.
• Mentor engineers and foster the growth of the developer infrastructure community.
• Represent the team in technical discussions across the organization.
• Over 10 years of experience in software development.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing CI/CD systems at scale, including pipeline design, reliability, and performance optimization.
• Proven experience in building or managing local and remote development environments or developer platforms.
• A history of leading cross-team technical initiatives that have delivered measurable results.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Proficient in containerization technologies, specifically Docker.
• Knowledge of orchestration tools such as ECS/Kubernetes or similar solutions.
• Experience with large monorepos and the associated git infrastructure challenges.
• Strong capabilities in technical leadership, mentoring, and influencing others without direct authority.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in owning or evolving a developer environment platform utilized by a substantial engineering organization is preferred.
• Background in stabilizing pre-production or staging environments at scale is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-driven developer tools is preferred.
• Experience in defining and measuring developer productivity metrics is preferred.
• Experience working in high-growth companies with developer infrastructure is preferred.
