Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +41 more states.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership and execute extensive engineering projects focusing on eligibility processing, identity, and client configuration systems.

• Design and develop scalable backend architectures to accommodate 50x data growth across Modern Health's platform.

• Collaborate with product managers and internal operations teams to outline requirements, use cases, and edge cases for intricate initiatives.

• Work alongside a senior staff engineer to plan and implement a multi-year growth engineering roadmap.

• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers through code collaboration.

• Manage and enhance critical backend systems that support client launches and member access.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in backend software engineering.

• 8–15 years of backend software engineering experience, particularly in Python (Django/Flask) at a staff level.

• Proven experience in independently leading complex, full-stack projects from start to finish.

• Expertise in designing scalable architectures capable of handling significant data growth (e.g., 50x).

• Proficient in using relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).

• Strong ability to collaborate across functions with product and operations stakeholders.

• A bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Open to candidates from bootcamps or those who are self-taught.
