Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with key internal business units to facilitate AI adoption.

• Grasp the pain points, workflows, data, and current technical architecture of stakeholders.

• Design and develop comprehensive systems tailored for internal stakeholders.

• Conduct user discovery by observing workflows, engaging in inquiries, and translating needs into feasible solutions.

• Rapidly create functional software during discussions with stakeholders.

• Handle unstructured inputs such as spreadsheets, PDFs, screenshots, recorded calls, documents, and emails.

• Develop and deploy production AI applications utilizing LLMs, agents, MCP servers, evaluation harnesses, retrieval systems, and custom skills.

• Quickly iterate across various engagements as requirements evolve.

• Manage the entire stack, encompassing frontend, backend, data, integrations, deployment, URLs, and observability.

• Standardize reusable patterns and share them with platform and engineering teams.

• Sustain stakeholder relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle, identify opportunities, and reinforce production solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of full-stack engineering experience delivering production systems from start to finish.

• Solid understanding of computer science principles: data structures, algorithms, and system design.

• Proficient in frontend technologies, particularly modern React, TypeScript, component architecture, and state management.

• Backend expertise in Node.JS, Java, and Python, including API design, data modeling, authentication, and error handling.

• Experience with production LLMs, including prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, retrieval, and large-scale deployment.

• Proven track record of shipping at least one real LLM-supported application utilized by others.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding practices.

• Strong data literacy, including knowledge of databases and Python data tools.

• Experience with cloud platforms and deployment, particularly AWS, GCP, or Azure; CI/CD, containers, and observability.

• Integration experience with SSO, OAuth, third-party APIs, internal systems, and legacy databases.

• Ability to independently navigate uncertainty and collaborate effectively across teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
