Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +31 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the delivery of medium-complexity projects from the technical discovery phase to final delivery.

• Decompose projects into features, facilitate estimation, manage scope, pinpoint risks, and promote practical trade-offs.

• Develop mobile Wikipedia product experiences for diverse, multilingual audiences across web and app platforms.

• Design and construct accessible, adaptable, scalable, and reusable frontend components.

• Create and sustain RESTful APIs, schemas, contracts, monitoring, and scalable data pipelines.

• Develop software that is testable, observable, and easy to debug.

• Implement features for enhanced analysis by Product Analysts.

• Partner with product managers, designers, analysts, and native app engineers.

• Recognize technical opportunities and risks, clarify priorities and sequencing, and align teams on objectives and capacities.

• Adhere to standards for code review, technical design, testing, documentation, accessibility, observability, and decision-making.

• Plan tasks with an understanding of both upstream and downstream impacts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree and 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience, particularly in developing production web applications and services.

• Significant professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js, and backend languages such as PHP.

• Proven experience in creating responsive or mobile-first web experiences, focusing on performance, accessibility, and usability.

• Background in designing and integrating server-side APIs.

• Experience delivering results in a self-driven, lean working environment.
