Software Engineer, Kernel and BIOS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Become a part of Arista Networks' Dublin Kernel software team within the Platform division.

• Stay updated with the latest developments in the Linux Kernel and implement them for internal projects and Arista EOS.

• Create and enhance new kernel features while collaborating with the kernel community to merge them upstream.

• Oversee CPU subsystems across all Arista products.

• Assess new CPUs and partner with CPU/BIOS vendors to integrate their technologies into EOS.

• Initiate and validate CPU/BIOS components in hardware products.

• Develop software functionalities, troubleshoot issues, and optimize code for scalability and performance.

• Take ownership of projects from their definition up to deployment and customer engagement.

• Guarantee the quality of software delivered.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

• Over 5 years of experience working with C or C++ and Python.

• Practical experience in Linux Kernel software is an advantage.

• Familiarity with IP networking and/or distributed systems is a plus.

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles.

• Excellent problem-solving and software troubleshooting abilities.

• Capability to design solutions and implement them effectively.
