Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +19 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop a comprehensive case management system for a government client.

• Write and assess code while maintaining high standards of quality, maintainability, and test coverage.

• Address challenges across the technology stack in collaboration with fellow engineers, creating new systems and enhancing existing ones.

• Consistently implement best practices, including accessibility standards.

• Collaborate with team members and government/client stakeholders to devise innovative solutions and develop technology products that enhance the lives of community members.

• Engage with colleagues across various disciplines utilizing Agile and Scrum methodologies.

• Take part in planning, deconstructing requirements into tasks, refining, and estimating.

• Contribute to a multi-service platform centered around Java/Spring services, a shared library, and a Next.js UI.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a full-time resident of the contiguous United States.

• Legally authorized to work in the US now and in the future without the need for sponsorship.

• Willing to undergo and capable of passing a Public Trust background check along with any related background and/or security checks for the project.

• Proficient in Java and Spring Boot.

• Experience in backend API development.

• Knowledge of REST APIs.

• Familiarity with JUnit 5, Mockito, MockMvc, and Spring Boot test support.

• Ability to create and maintain unit/integration tests for API and security functionality.

• Comfortable with CI validation and regression prevention.

• Front-end testing experience with Jest and/or Testing Library.

• Experience with Docker.

• Knowledge of Vault secret management.

• Proficient in GitLab CI/CD and environment configuration.

• Familiarity with Next.js.

• Experience with React and TypeScript.

• Knowledge of Material UI.

• Proficient in form handling, API clients, and GraphQL/REST integration.

• Understanding of environment variables and deployment configuration.

• Knowledge of Semantic HTML.

• Experience securing applications with authentication/authorization.

• Familiarity with GraphQL usage and schema-driven client/server integration.

• Experience with database migrations using Flyway.

• Understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.

• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Knowledge of Section 508 and accessibility best practices.

• Ability to write clear and maintainable code and tests.

• Capability to deliver polished, scalable, maintainable, and performant code.

• Preferred: Experience using coding tools such as CoPilot or Claude Code.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in building applications with open-source programming languages.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience working with modern frameworks, libraries, or runtimes.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience interacting with various types of APIs and databases.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with infrastructure tools and Infrastructure as Code.

• Preferred: Experience with Kubernetes, DataDog, and Helm charts.

• Preferred: Experience developing software in a remote environment.

• Preferred: Background in digital services, government, or federal consulting.
