Senior Software Engineer, iOS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +31 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute medium-complexity projects from the technical discovery phase to final delivery.

• Decompose initiatives into features, manage estimations, oversee scope, recognize risks, and facilitate sensible trade-offs.

• Enhance mobile Wikipedia product experiences for a diverse, multilingual audience on iOS.

• Spearhead system design for medium-sized projects and develop accessible, adaptable, and scalable components.

• Create software that is straightforward to test, monitor, and troubleshoot.

• Implement features for in-depth analysis by Product Analysts.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, analysts, and native app developers.

• Identify significant technical opportunities and risks, and clarify priorities and sequencing.

• Uphold standards for code reviews, technical design, testing, documentation, accessibility, observability, and decision-making.

• Strategically plan work with an understanding of both downstream and upstream impacts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5–10+ years of relevant professional experience.

• Extensive experience in developing iOS applications.

• Strong professional expertise and proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, along with familiarity with iOS architectural patterns.

• Experience with techniques for optimizing iOS performance.

• Background in a self-driven, lean working environment.

• Dedication to the mission and values of the Wikimedia Foundation.

• Availability for at least four hours of the workday between 14:00 UTC and 21:00 UTC.

• Current work authorization in the hiring location for non-US applicants.
