Staff, Referente Técnico – AWS, Event-Driven Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Design and lead event-driven architectures on AWS (EventBridge, SNS/SQS, Kinesis or MSK, Lambda, Step Functions) for critical transactional flows.

• Address consistency issues in distributed systems: idempotency, outbox pattern, sagas, retries, DLQs, and reconciliation.

• Define contracts and the evolution of event schemas (versioning, compatibility, schema registry).

• Establish observability standards (distributed tracing, metrics, alerts) and infrastructure as code (CDK or Terraform).

• Write ADRs, review designs from other teams, and mentor senior team members.

• Collaborate with security and compliance teams in the handling of sensitive and financial data.

• Define standards and make architectural decisions that impact the entire organization.

• Elevate the technical level of the teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years in technical leadership roles (Staff, Principal, or Tech Lead across multiple teams).

• Experience in fintech, payment systems, ledgers, or regulated systems (PCI-DSS, SOC 2) is essential.

• Deep experience with TypeScript/Node.js in production at scale.

• Real-world design and operation of event-driven systems on AWS, including having witnessed failures and resolved them.

• Mastery of distributed system patterns and their trade-offs (at-least-once vs. exactly-once, ordering, backpressure).

• Experience with IaC, CI/CD, and best security practices in AWS (minimum privilege IAM, KMS, secret management).

• Ability to communicate complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical profiles.
