Event Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Supervise the implementation of Spotlight Dance Cup and LEAP National Dance Competition events.

• Serve as the Main Tabulator, managing scoring and ensuring a fair and impartial competition.

• Maintain an in-depth understanding of the rules for Spotlight Dance Cup and LEAP National Dance Competition.

• Lead event staff and provide support across various positions to guarantee proper breaks and assistance.

• Offer guidance and take disciplinary measures when necessary to uphold professionalism and event standards.

• Foster exceptional client relations and address concerns with empathy and professionalism.

• Present awards on stage and act as Show Director when needed.

• Collaborate with Technical Assistants and facility representatives to ensure seamless operations.

• Attend approximately 6–10 regional events each year, typically spanning 3–5 days.

• Potentially participate in 1–2 national events each year, usually lasting 6–8 days.

• Set up equipment and work across event venues, hotels, and stages.

• Execute additional or modified responsibilities as operational, seasonal, or strategic needs dictate.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in event management, production, or competitive dance settings (Preferred).

• Background in managing staff and live event logistics (Preferred).

• Familiarity with dance competition rules is an advantage.

• Experience in the dance sector, especially in competitive dance judging or event management.

• Strong enthusiasm for working in competitive dance environments with a dedication to the value of the arts.

• Experience in public speaking and performance.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and decision-making abilities.

• Capability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure circumstances.

• Must live within a reasonable distance from a U.S. international airport or hub.

• Willingness to travel frequently during the event season (January–July).

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and set up equipment.

• Comfortable sharing hotel accommodations with same-gender colleagues during event assignments.

• New or first-year event staff must participate in an audition and training session in Eagle, Idaho.
