Staff Product Manager – Product Discovery Engine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of business impact related to search-attributed conversion, revenue per visit, GMV, and relevance.

• Enhance discovery quality and business metrics across all retail verticals served.

• Transform existing ML/IR research and competitive advancements into successful production outcomes.

• Deploy cutting-edge ML and LLM-assisted functionalities.

• Establish the multi-quarter vision and strategy for the Product Discovery Engine.

• Direct the strategy and roadmap of the Search Quality team.

• Coordinate recall, ranking, query understanding, and personalization based on shared quality and business metrics.

• Collaborate with ML and data science teams to transition models from concept to production, while balancing accuracy, latency, and cost.

• Develop metrics, evaluation frameworks, and tools to assess and clarify discovery quality and business impact.

• Lead the investigation and resolution of quality issues, designing systemic solutions.

• Broaden leadership across ML Recall, ML Infrastructure, CORE, SABR, and Catalog Management.


⛳️ Requirements

• Significant product management experience, typically 8+ years, in search, discovery, ML, or NLP-focused products.

• Experience working at a senior or staff level.

• Proven history of driving business metrics at scale, including conversion, revenue, and engagement.

• Experience in setting strategy across various teams.

• In-depth understanding of the complete search pipeline: query interpretation, recall/candidate generation, ranking, re-ranking, personalization, and delivery.

• Strong expertise in ML products, including oversight of production models.

• Ability to analyze trade-offs between high-capacity LLM/batch and low-latency real-time approaches.

• Up-to-date knowledge of cutting-edge ML research.

• Proficient in retrieval and recall processes.

• Understanding of query comprehension, including tokenization, synonyms, spelling correction, and multilingual support.

• Familiarity with search evaluation frameworks.

• A rigorous, measurement-focused approach that connects quality investments to business results.

• Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills across engineering, data science, and ML Operations.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and establishing direction in uncertain situations.
