Staff Product Manager, Connectivity Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Establish the long-term vision and strategy for Wealthsimple's Connectivity Platform.

• Determine the build-versus-buy and partnership approach for connectivity capabilities.

• Create a roadmap that balances immediate product requirements with reusable platform investments.

• Oversee end-to-end automated and manual linking experiences for bank and brokerage accounts.

• Enhance connection success, reliability, and institutional coverage.

• Manage the connector routing strategy across Plaid, Flinks, and WST.

• Take charge of client experiences related to institution selection, authentication, errors, recovery, and connection management.

• Promote reliability and AI-driven self-healing for unsuccessful connections.

• Balance conversion rates, fraud exposure, and operational workload in collaboration with risk and operations teams.

• Develop platform capabilities for the consistent consumption of external financial data.

• Manage vendor relationships and product integrations with Plaid and Flinks.

• Formulate strategy and roadmap for Wealthsimple's Public API and external data connectivity.

• Define authentication, consent, permissions, data access, and partner integration capabilities.

• Prioritize partners and use cases for Wealthsimple clients.

• Propel Wealthsimple and the industry towards open banking.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and external partners.

• Develop metrics, roadmap, and investment case for the platform's future.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience owning a platform, API, developer product, or integrations platform, with metrics related to outcomes such as conversion, success rate, or reliability.

• Technical expertise in collaboration with engineers on APIs, authentication, data models, routing, and platform architecture.

• Experience in delivering through external vendors or partners, including making build-versus-buy decisions and holding vendors accountable.

• Comfort in treating reliability as a product concern, which includes error taxonomies, failure recovery, observability, and operational workload.

• Experience in assessing growth against fraud, risk, and compliance.

• Ability to articulate a clear product strategy and long-term vision for technical capabilities.

• Strong analytical skills to utilize data for understanding reliability, conversion, coverage, and product performance.

• Cross-functional leadership experience across Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and external partners.

• Capacity to simplify complex systems.

• Nice to have: experience with open banking, Canada's consumer-driven banking framework, or data-sharing standards.

• Nice to have: background in financial data aggregation.

• Nice to have: experience in launching a public API or developer platform as a commercial product.

• Must permanently reside in Canada or the United States and be legally eligible to work in either country.
