Senior Principal Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and communicate the long-term vision and objectives of the product, ensuring alignment with business strategy.

• Create the product vision, strategy, outcome-focused roadmap, and product backlog.

• Craft engaging product narratives for audiences at all levels, including senior executives.

• Organize and lead stakeholder and team meetings, customizing communication for various audiences.

• Interact with senior and executive-level stakeholders from the Department of the Air Force.

• Make prompt decisions regarding product features, scope, and priorities by leveraging stakeholder feedback, market analysis, and team insights.

• Identify team challenges and opportunities, proactively driving solutions.

• Lead and positively influence a balanced cross-functional team in their daily activities.

• Manage and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and the product vision.

• Document operational requirements and user experiences.

• Develop user stories with acceptance criteria for the development team.

• Advocate for user-centered design within the organization and with customers.

• Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and development teams, integrating stakeholder needs into the backlog.

• Convey complex ideas, anticipate objections, and persuade senior stakeholders effectively.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).

• Minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience in Product Management.

• In-depth understanding of Agile development methodologies.

• Strong grasp of Lean Product Management principles.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven experience in leading products from concept to market launch.

• Familiarity with user-centered design, usability testing, and various research methodologies.

• Background in stakeholder management, effective communication, and presentation skills.

• Experience collaborating within a balanced team to build, measure, and learn.

• Proficiency in working within a fast-paced, iterative development environment.

• Ability to balance customer and user feedback to develop appealing solutions.

• Preferred knowledge of trends in US Air Force digital services and emerging technologies.

• Experience contributing to product decisions through user research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops is preferred.

• Background in the design and/or development of full-service applications is preferred.
