This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of a developer workflow, tool, or user issue through the stages of discovery, definition, design, implementation, rollout, and adoption.
• Engage in product discovery by interviewing engineers, product managers, and designers, as well as analyzing support tickets, usage data, and CI logs.
• Identify problems, define target users and desired outcomes, clarify what should not be built, and prioritize useful releases.
• Design user experiences that encompass flows, states, empty states, and error cases.
• Create prototypes using Figma or code.
• Develop TypeScript and React interfaces, backend services and APIs, CLIs and terminal UIs, GitHub Apps and Actions, Harness pipeline templates, and integrations with Atlassian and Figma.
• Implement AI through agent workflows, context and tool design, and MCP servers with evaluations, human review points, cost and latency budgets, and guardrails.
• Ensure consumer-grade quality for internal software, focusing on responsiveness, accessibility, error messaging, and accurate documentation.
• Define and assess outcomes through adoption instrumentation and published findings.
• Foster adoption through design partnerships, pilot programs, launch announcements, office hours, and clear migration strategies.
• Transform one-off successes into reusable components and make technical decisions regarding owned tasks.
• Collaborate with team members and involve others when decisions impact workflows outside the area of ownership.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, not including internships.
• Proven history of delivering software that users choose to engage with.
• Experience in leading complex projects from vague requirements to successful launch.
• Capability to coordinate with various teams and make informed decisions regarding scope and implementation tradeoffs.
• Proficiency in at least one relevant engineering domain, such as TypeScript and React, Go, Python, Java, or Rust.
• Ability to work effectively across related engineering layers.
• Experience in developing developer-oriented software, including CLIs, internal platforms, SDKs, CI/CD tools, or IDE integrations.
• Ability to articulate what makes developer-focused software valuable.
• Competence in reasoning about LLM-based functionalities, potential failure modes, and human review processes.
• Skill in gathering user feedback and analyzing interaction and failure scenarios.
• Strong written communication skills for specifications, documentation, changelogs, and launch updates.
• Comfort in navigating ambiguity.
