This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Establish Xint's technical content strategy and produce original research on application security, various vulnerability classes, and AI-assisted offensive security.
• Execute research autonomously or in collaboration with Theori's researchers from the formulation of hypotheses through to findings and publication.
• Transform research into comprehensive write-ups, tools, datasets, and reproducible proof-of-concepts.
• Author in-depth technical analyses on vulnerabilities, detailing root causes, exploit paths, and remediation strategies.
• Develop written and video tutorials, quick-start guides, demo environments, and sample projects.
• Manage the annual Call for Papers (CFP) calendar and submit presentations and papers to security conferences such as Black Hat, DEF CON, OWASP Global AppSec, and BSides.
• Represent Xint at conferences, on panels, and in podcast appearances.
• Oversee Xint's monthly webinar from start to finish, including setting the agenda, booking guests, delivering sessions, and repurposing recordings.
• Interact with practitioners in Reddit, Discord, and other security-focused communities.
• Relay practitioner feedback to product and research teams.
• Maintain Xint's public vulnerability tracker, conducting research on disclosure timing.
• Collaborate closely with the research team, as well as product and marketing departments.
• 5+ years of experience in technical marketing, developer relations, or developer advocacy, preferably in the security or developer tools sector.
• A public portfolio showcasing technical blogs, how-to videos, tutorials, and quick-start documentation authored and produced by you.
• Practical security knowledge: the capability to read code, articulate vulnerabilities such as injection, authentication bypass, SSRF, or deserialization, and replicate an exploit path.
• A history of conference presentations, accepted CFPs, or published research.
• Comfort in front of the camera and on stage, including hosting live sessions with guests.
• Established credibility within practitioner communities, demonstrating an authentic, non-promotional engagement style.
• Clear and precise writing that treats practitioners as equals.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive experience in application security or penetration testing, such as roles as a penetration tester, AppSec engineer, or bug bounty hunter.
• Contributions to CVEs, bug bounty findings, or results from Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions.
• Security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, or GWAPT.
• Familiarity with SAST, DAST, or penetration-testing workflows and tools.
• A working understanding of how LLMs are utilized in security analysis.
