Staff Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete engineering process for the team, covering product surface, backend, infrastructure, deployment, and operations.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as agentic coding tools, code generation, and LLMs, to enhance productivity.

• Integrate AI capabilities into the product through LLM integration, prompt and context engineering, retrieval, and agentic patterns.

• Exercise sound judgment in assessing evaluation, implementing guardrails, and ensuring appropriate use of AI.

• Collaborate equally with the product manager and designer during discovery and delivery phases.

• Provide insights on customer needs and challenges, rigorously evaluate direction, and steer the team towards desired outcomes.

• Create reference implementations, reusable patterns, and scaffolds.

• Share insights through demonstrations, writing, brown-bag sessions, and collaboration.

• Establish quality standards for code, tests, and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7-10 years of pertinent experience.

• Extensive hands-on experience in software engineering.

• Proven ability to independently manage and deliver significant systems end-to-end without scaffolding or supervision.

• Demonstrated proficiency with AI-assisted development tools.

• Practical experience in developing AI-powered product features in production environments.

• Strong architectural judgment along with pragmatic instincts for build/buy/simplify decisions across the entire stack.

• Genuine product insight and a history of close collaboration with product and design teams.

• Evidence of enhancing team productivity through mentorship, reusable contributions, or influence without formal authority.

• High level of initiative, action-oriented mindset, comfort with uncertainty, accountability for results, and effectiveness without requiring management oversight.

• Willingness to maintain visibility and advocate for improved engineering practices throughout the organization.

• Openness to undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as needed or requested.
