Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance platform services, infrastructure, and internal tools that support OpenSea's products.

• Take ownership of intricate technical systems from initial definition through to implementation.

• Strike a balance between scalability, reliability, maintainability, and developer experience.

• Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting systems across OpenSea's infrastructure.

• Maintain and advance AI capabilities and tools to enhance system accessibility, introspection, and contribution.

• Accelerate and broaden CI coverage to enhance accuracy and AI verifiability.

• Collaborate with product teams to expedite the development and deployment of essential products.

• Create and deliver dependable software utilizing AI, contemporary development tools, and sound engineering judgment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience in developing large-scale backend or platform systems.

• Strong proficiency in JVM languages such as Kotlin or Java.

• Experience in designing and managing distributed systems, backend services, and modern cloud infrastructure.

• Comprehensive understanding of platform engineering principles, developer tools, CI/CD, observability, and operational best practices.

• Capability to tackle complex, ambiguous technical challenges and deliver well-considered, scalable solutions.

• Ability to make independent technical choices, balancing reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Experience utilizing AI tools and workflows to enhance engineering quality, efficiency, and overall team effectiveness.

• A passion for Web3, digital ownership, AI, or other emerging technologies.
