This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Design, develop, and support backend services and APIs using Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
• Create front-end components or internal tools as necessary.
• Ensure code quality by conducting code reviews, implementing automated testing, and adhering to shared engineering standards.
• Architect services with features like timeouts, retries, idempotency, and robust dependency-failure handling.
• Develop and sustain integrations with ServiceNow, enterprise data platforms, and internal APIs utilizing REST, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Connect services with enterprise identity providers through OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
• Provide technical insights for cross-team requests and carry out engineering tasks once dependencies are resolved.
• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines with automated build processes, testing, security scanning, and deployment.
• Incorporate SAST, DAST, dependency and container scanning, secrets management, and least-privilege access strategies.
• Oversee ATO activities, including control evidence, STIG or equivalent hardening, and addressing findings.
• Transform AI Solutions Architect designs into production-ready LLM-backed services, RAG features, and model API integrations.
• Develop prompt and configuration management, evaluation hooks, guardrails, and usage/cost monitoring.
• Monitor AI features for quality, latency, costs, and safety, making adjustments as usage increases.
• Deploy and manage services in AWS or Azure government regions using infrastructure as code and containers on Kubernetes or equivalent managed services.
• Establish observability with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and dashboards.
• Break down capabilities into deliverable increments, estimate work, and identify risks and dependencies.
• Write runbooks, technical documentation, and handoff materials.
• Lead post-incident remediation for the capabilities you own.
• A minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of experience in building and managing production services end to end.
• Strong programming skills in at least one backend language: Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
• Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and services relied upon by other systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating with enterprise platforms like ServiceNow or a similar system through APIs, messaging, or event streaming.
• Experience in identity integration using OAuth 2.0 and OIDC or SAML, with an enterprise identity provider such as Entra ID, Okta, or Keycloak.
• Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that include integrated security scanning.
• Hands-on experience with ATO or equivalent compliance tasks, including control evidence, system hardening, and resolution of findings.
• At least one AI or ML capability delivered to production, such as an LLM-backed service, RAG feature, or model integration.
• Experience with deployments to AWS or Azure using infrastructure as code and containers.
• Proven ability to build observability into systems and support them in production, including incident response.
• Capability to work independently within a remote team and effectively communicate technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Must be available during East Coast business hours.
