This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and sustain backend services and APIs using Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
• Create front-end components or internal tools as necessary.
• Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to shared engineering standards.
• Architect services incorporating timeouts, retries, idempotency, and robust dependency management.
• Develop and uphold integrations with ServiceNow, enterprise data platforms, and internal APIs utilizing REST, messaging, and event-driven methodologies.
• Connect services with enterprise identity providers through OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
• Provide technical insights for cross-team requests and carry out engineering tasks once dependencies are resolved.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines featuring automated builds, testing, security scanning, and deployment.
• Implement SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, container scanning, secrets management, and least-privilege access protocols.
• Manage ATO efforts, control evidence, STIG or similar hardening, and remediation of issues.
• Translate AI architecture designs into operational LLM-backed services, RAG features, and model integrations.
• Oversee prompts and configurations, evaluation hooks, guardrails, usage tracking, and cost management.
• Monitor and optimize AI features for quality, latency, cost, and safety.
• Deploy and operate services in AWS or Azure government regions using infrastructure as code and containerization on Kubernetes or equivalent managed services.
• Establish observability with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and dashboards.
• Decompose capabilities into deliverable increments, estimate tasks, and highlight risks and dependencies.
• Create runbooks, technical documentation, and handoff materials.
• Lead post-incident resolution for owned capabilities.
• Over 8 years of software engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years in building and managing production services from start to finish.
• Proficient programming skills in at least one backend language: Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript.
• Proven experience in designing RESTful APIs and services.
• Practical experience integrating with enterprise platforms like ServiceNow or similar systems.
• Experience in identity integration using OAuth 2.0 and OIDC or SAML, with enterprise identity providers like Entra ID, Okta, or Keycloak.
• Background in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with integrated security scanning.
• Hands-on experience with ATO or equivalent compliance efforts, including control evidence, system hardening, and remediation.
• Delivered at least one AI or ML capability to production, such as an LLM-backed service, RAG feature, or model integration.
• Experience with deployments on AWS or Azure using infrastructure as code and containers.
• Familiarity with observability and managing production incident responses.
• Capability to work independently within a remote team and communicate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.
• Availability during East Coast business hours.
