Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and expand the cloud infrastructure that supports Nango's open-source platform, which encompasses compute, networking, and the data layer.

• Drive BYOC deployments as a product, overseeing provisioning, upgrades, and observability.

• Operationalize and productize the foundations of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps.

• Establish meaningful Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and create a reliable incident management process.

• Oversee the data layer utilizing Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, and ClickHouse as it scales.

• Manage the infrastructure aspects of security and compliance for SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, as well as enterprise security evaluations.

• Influence the roadmap and strategic direction of the company through significant ownership of crucial decisions.

• Directly impact the product roadmap, specifications, and execution as part of a product-driven developer infrastructure organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.

• Demonstrated ability to manage high-traffic systems in a production environment.

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes in production settings.

• Experience with operating software in environments that are outside your control: BYOC, single-tenant, on-premises, or air-gapped.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS; familiarity with GCP and Azure is a plus.

• Proficient in Terraform, including creating reusable modules, managing safe states, and handling multi-account topologies.

• Strong expertise in databases, particularly Postgres; including performance tuning, handling migrations under load, and replication.

• Experience with compliance, including SOC 2 or ISO audits, penetration testing, and security assessments.

• Possess a product-oriented mindset and developer empathy.

• Experience with TypeScript and Node.js.

• Excellent communication skills, proactive attitude, and reliability in a remote-first setting.

• Pragmatic, positive, and humble approach.

• Independent, ownership-driven, and capable of navigating uncertainty.

• Based in North America, LATAM, or Europe.

• Required software engineering experience of 10-15 years or 15+ years.

• Required knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js.

• Previous work experience at a developer-tool company or on internal developer tooling is essential.
