Senior Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess industry trends pertaining to cloud computing and data platform technologies.

• Collaborate with architects across different organizational functions to enhance technical capabilities.

• Convert industry trends into implementable capabilities.

• Design and develop reusable target-state platform architectures.

• Establish strategies and roadmaps to steer transformation initiatives.

• Create architectural patterns for cloud data ecosystems, including AWS Cloud, PySpark, Snowflake, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot.

• Work with internal stakeholders to assess needs and offer architectural guidance for batch/streaming, real-time and near-real-time integration/ELT, analytic data structuring, cloud migrations, and AI support.

• Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and proactively identify platform and technical requirements.

• Lead product evaluations, establish scoring criteria, and deliver technical recommendations.

• Develop infrastructure-as-code and cloud platforms for proof of concept initiatives.

• Integrate DevOps and DataOps practices to enhance automation.

• Conduct technical road shows to promote service adoption.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 6 years of substantial and varied work experience in cloud computing, data delivery applications, analytics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least 3 years of experience offering architectural guidance and technical direction to developers or platform administrators.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience (or equivalent training/certification) in designing and implementing solutions using AWS and GCP Services.

• Capacity to quickly learn new technologies and execute major job responsibilities proficiently within 6–12 months.

• Experience in developing applications/platforms employing agile scrum methodologies.

• Strong analytical skills, problem analysis techniques, and extensive knowledge of technology alternatives.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both business and IT partners.

• Preferred: experience or equivalent training/certification in designing and/or implementing data delivery solutions utilizing Data Integration Tools (Informatica, Talend, etc.) and/or Data Platforms (Oracle, Snowflake, S3, RDS, etc.) or Data Management (Cataloging, Lineage, Quality, MDM, etc.).

• Must possess authorization to work in the US without company sponsorship.

• The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
