Staff Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, deploy, and sustain network infrastructure within both cloud and on-premises settings.

• Establish and maintain routing frameworks, including BGP, OSPF, route policies, and peering techniques.

• Implement and oversee hybrid networking solutions such as VPNs, Direct Connect, and inter-region routing.

• Administer and configure Juniper networking equipment.

• Create network automation utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• Enforce network security measures including segmentation, firewall rules, and access management.

• Engage in capacity planning, performance enhancement, and traffic analysis.

• Contribute to incident response and root cause analysis for network-related disruptions.

• Oversee ISP connectivity, which includes transit providers, private circuits, and carrier partnerships.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering positions.

• Relevant experience or certifications (e.g., CCNP or JNCIP Data Centre, Enterprise, or Service Provider).

• In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, routing policies, and network troubleshooting.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, routing, switching, and load balancing.

• Practical experience with Juniper networking platforms (SRX Firewalls, QFX switching).

• Capability to troubleshoot layer 2 issues (ARP and MAC address tables, as well as LACP and MC-LAG).

• Proficient in diagnosing DNS-related issues.

• Familiarity with standard network cabling.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes CNI (Calico, Cilium).
