Staff Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Establish the direction for frontend architecture utilizing React, React Native, and the shared monorepo.

• Take ownership of cross-team challenges related to platform capabilities, shared libraries, design-system foundations, tooling, and developer experience.

• Lead decisions regarding boundaries, abstractions, state and data flow, performance, testing, and migration strategies.

• Identify and resolve systemic issues related to rendering, bundling, runtime, and release quality, implementing sustainable solutions.

• Stay actively involved in implementation, prototyping, or technical investigations when beneficial.

• Collaborate with product teams, backend engineers, and QA to address cross-team risks and make informed decisions.

• Provide mentorship to senior engineers, enhance review quality, and improve the reproducibility of sound frontend judgment.

• Balance the need for standardization with the autonomy of individual teams.

• Engage in recruiter conversations, code reviews, in-depth experience evaluations, and managerial interview processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated architectural or platform influence across various frontend teams.

• Extensive ownership of complex production systems developed with React or React Native and TypeScript.

• Strong judgment in application boundaries, shared libraries, state management, performance, and migration design.

• Proven track record of enhancing developer effectiveness, reliability, or product quality through sustainable mechanisms.

• Hands-on experience in diagnosing performance and correctness issues in web or mobile systems.

• Capability to guide technical direction through evidence, clarity, and trusted execution rather than relying on title.

• Excellent communication skills that empower teams to navigate complex technical decisions.

• Strong engineering and product judgment, including the discernment to avoid unnecessary abstractions.

• Familiarity with a technical stack that includes TypeScript, React, React Native, React Native Web, Nx, pnpm, TanStack Query, Zustand, Playwright, Detox, and Jest.
