Staff Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on and assist with strategic agreements and client interactions

• Collaborate with Solution Engineers and Observability Architects to tackle intricate technical issues

• Act as a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) within a specific area of the Grafana Platform

• Develop reference architectures and address competitive objections

• Create and present value-driven narratives to assist sales teams in closing deals

• Generate and manage technical training materials, including workshops, how-to guides, and demo scripts

• Set up a consistent content review schedule in conjunction with Enablement and Product Management

• Design, engineer, and sustain live production environments for demonstrations, workshops, and proof of value (POV) infrastructure

• Influence product strategy and represent Field Engineering during product planning

• Speak at key marketing events, webinars, conferences, and contribute to blogs

• Offer technical direction and share best practices with Solution Engineers, Observability Architects, and clients

• Enhance product documentation and contribute to white papers and blog posts

• Mentor Senior and Staff Solution Engineers as well as Field Engineers

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8+ years of relevant technical experience, including 2+ years in a Senior Field Engineer capacity or similar role

• Background as an SRE, Developer, Architect, or a successful presales Solution Architect

• Strong comprehension of Grafana and related technologies

• Recognized depth of knowledge in at least one domain of the Grafana Platform

• Extensive experience with observability technologies such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Tempo, Elastic, Splunk, and Datadog

• Expert-level expertise in at least one related field, such as IoT or AI/ML

• Proven experience in developing and maintaining product training materials utilized by the technical field organization

• Experience collaborating with Product Management and Engineering regarding enablement content and roadmap priorities

• Proficient in at least one modern programming language

• Strong grasp of the software development lifecycle, debugging, and investigation techniques

• Familiarity with Linux and commonly used tools

• Practical experience utilizing AI tools for code generation and review

• Capability to architect contemporary applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform

• Understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless architecture, and Microservices

• Proven track record in delivering strategic technical content to technical audiences

• Comprehensive understanding of the sales process and complex strategic sales cycles
