Staff Engineer – Platform & Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and expand the cloud infrastructure that powers Nango's open-source platform, encompassing computing, networking, and the data layer.

• Spearhead BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) deployments and transform customer-cloud deployments into a scalable product featuring provisioning, upgrades, and observability.

• Operationalize and productize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps foundations.

• Establish significant Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and create a reliable incident response process.

• Oversee the data layer, which includes Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, and ClickHouse, as it scales.

• Manage the infrastructure aspects of security and compliance, including SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and enterprise security assessments.

• Influence the roadmap and overall company strategy by taking significant ownership of critical decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.

• Demonstrated capability to manage high-traffic systems in a production environment.

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes in production settings.

• Proven experience operating software in environments beyond your control: BYOC, single-tenant, on-premises, or air-gapped.

• Strong fluency in AWS; familiarity with GCP and Azure is a plus.

• Proficient in Terraform, including creating reusable modules, managing safe states, and multi-account architectures.

• Solid database knowledge, particularly with Postgres, including performance tuning, migrations under load, and replication.

• Familiarity with SOC 2 or ISO audits, penetration testing, and security evaluations.

• Product-oriented mindset with a strong sense of developer empathy.

• Experience with TypeScript and Node.js.

• Excellent communication skills, proactive attitude, and dependability in a remote-first work environment.

• Pragmatic, positive, and low-ego approach to challenges.

• Prepared for startup dynamics, self-motivated, ownership-driven, and capable of thriving in ambiguity.
