Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the technical design and development of enterprise integration and automation projects.

• Design AWS-based microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and secure integration methodologies.

• Offer hands-on coding assistance across backend services, APIs, databases, and automation processes.

• Mentor developers through design evaluations, code assessments, troubleshooting, and ensuring production readiness.

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and convert them into technical solutions.

• Assist in the design and implementation of AI/agent-based automation use cases across various business functions.

• Establish engineering best practices for the software development lifecycle (SDLC), documentation, testing, observability, security, and release management.

• Resolve production issues and facilitate root cause analysis along with long-term solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid software engineering background with practical experience in backend development.

• Proven experience in designing and building solutions within the AWS Cloud environment.

• In-depth knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, databases, authentication methods, and integration patterns.

• Familiarity with automation platforms such as Workato or equivalent iPaaS tools.

• Experience with AWS Bedrock.

• Capability to lead technical design conversations and provide mentorship to engineers.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of SDLC, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.

• Preferred experience with AI automation, AI agents, LLMs, RAG, or agentic workflows.

• Preferred experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, SQS/SNS/EventBridge, CloudWatch, and IAM.

• Preferred knowledge of security, compliance, SOX controls, and audit-ready engineering practices.

• Must possess eligibility to work without sponsorship.
