This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Virta’s actuarial and financial value strategy.
• Advance savings, ROI, and actuarial methodologies by utilizing medical and pharmacy claims along with other healthcare data.
• Create and assess performance guarantees, value-based contracts, and innovative risk arrangements.
• Provide guidance to Commercial Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership regarding products, pricing, benefits, and go-to-market strategies.
• Facilitate strategic sales, renewal, and client discussions as Virta’s senior actuarial expert.
• Articulate Virta’s economic value to employers, health plans, consultants, and actuaries.
• Analyze the financial impacts of healthcare utilization, pharmacy economics, GLP-1s, and other market trends.
• Establish enterprise standards for reusable models, methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Develop and implement rigorous, transparent, defensible, evidence-based financial modeling techniques.
• Mentor and nurture the growth of actuarial and analytics team members.
• Acquire product and commercial knowledge, foster cross-functional relationships, and understand client context within the first 30 days.
• Take ownership of essential actuarial analyses and contribute to client, sales, and renewal discussions by 60 days.
• Identify avenues for enhancing ROI methodologies, performance guarantee strategies, and AI and automation workflows by 60 days.
• Independently support sales presentations and Customer Success discussions, setting priorities for advancing actuarial value strategy by 90 days.
• FSA or ASA designation required.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in healthcare actuarial work, healthcare economics, consulting, payer strategy, employer benefits, or a related domain.
• Extensive experience in utilizing medical and pharmacy claims to assess healthcare cost savings and illustrate the economic value of value-based care models.
• Capability to translate complex analyses into credible narratives for clients and the market.
• Proficient in SQL.
• Ability to autonomously navigate intricate healthcare datasets.
• Proficient in leveraging AI and emerging tools to expedite analysis, enhance workflows, and boost quality and scalability.
• Experience in converting actuarial and financial analyses into actionable business recommendations.
• Proven experience in evaluating performance guarantees, value-based arrangements, pricing strategies, or financial risk.
• Skillful in conveying complex quantitative concepts clearly to actuaries, analytics teams, clients, commercial leaders, and executives.
• Adherence to Virta’s security and privacy protocols for HIPAA-governed patient information.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
