Associate Actuary, Pricing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish pricing assumptions to facilitate Medicare Part D bids.

• Offer guidance to Product Development regarding the impacts of new products and benefit costs.

• Create and maintain pricing tools for both standard and customized benefits.

• Develop and uphold projections of drug utilization trends for Humana's Medicare Part D offerings.

• Assist in pricing, forecasting, bid development, and strategic decision-making processes.

• Examine historical claims data, emerging utilization patterns, member behavior, and market dynamics.

• Identify critical drivers of pharmacy cost trends and predict future utilization at the drug, therapeutic class, and product levels.

• Employ actuarial models, experience studies, and analytical tools to investigate utilization changes and derive actionable insights.

• Collaborate with teams in pricing, forecasting, clinical, pharmacy, formulary, and finance.

• Keep track of new drug launches, loss of exclusivity events, changes in clinical guidelines, and regulatory influences.

• Present findings and recommendations to business partners and leadership.

• Shape departmental strategy through expertise in Medicare Part D utilization trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.

• Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.

• MAAA.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of conveying complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Three or more years of experience in Pricing, Medicare, and/or Part D (preferred).

• Proficiency in SAS/SQL/R/Databricks programming (preferred).

• Familiarity with Power BI dashboards (preferred).

• Experience in model building, exploratory analysis, and/or dashboard development (preferred).

• Highly motivated and eager to learn (preferred).

• Minimum home internet download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.

• Dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.
