Senior Managing Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the execution, ongoing maintenance, critical evaluation, and analysis of models, studies, and systems employing actuarial principles.

• Utilize actuarial functions for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and related domains.

• Create complex models and instruct others on model development.

• Prepare comprehensive written and verbal presentations that facilitate decision-making.

• Manage intricate day-to-day projects involving non-actuarial departments and external stakeholders.

• Exhibit knowledge across various actuarial domains and possess expertise in at least one business segment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics; alternative Bachelor’s or higher degrees may be accepted.

• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).

• Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

• Adherence to membership requirements for each professional designation.

• A minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience in the health insurance or a related sector.

• At least 2 years of experience in a management or leadership role.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in PC applications including Word and Excel.

• Familiarity with Access, SQL, Visual Basic, or other programming languages is preferred.

• Experience with Medicare Part D is a plus.

• Experience with Medicaid is also welcome.
