Enrolled Actuary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct independent reviews of a caseload exceeding 150 Defined Benefit and Cash Balance Plans in compliance with IRS regulations.

• Evaluate annual nondiscrimination testing for qualified pension plans.

• Analyze PBGC filings and notifications.

• Certify contribution and asset figures for AFTAP.

• Prepare and assess annual FASB reports.

• Review distribution packages and yearly participant statements.

• Examine IRS and DOL filings, including Form 5500 and Schedule SB.

• Create preliminary design studies and projections that adhere to nondiscrimination standards.

• Prepare, review, and advise on plan termination filings with the IRS and PBGC.

• Represent clients during IRS, PBGC, and DOL audits, as well as in P/T Exemption and VCP filings.

• Lead or engage in retirement plan consulting initiatives.

• Stay informed about industry developments and relay relevant information to clients and team members.

• Remain updated on evolving legislative requirements.

• Deliver exceptional client service, responsiveness, and communication.

• Utilize technologies such as Datair, FT William, and Pension Pal to enhance efficiency.

• Direct client interaction and new business development are optional and incentivized, but not mandatory.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be an Enrolled Actuary certified by the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries to provide actuarial services under ERISA.

• Minimum of three years of experience as an Enrolled Actuary.

• Over three years of experience in reviewing actuarial work.

• Familiarity with business entities in relation to plan compensation and design.

• Strong understanding of 415 limit, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) nondiscrimination testing.

• Comprehension of client business challenges and their impact on retirement plans.

• Capability to use and maintain current CRM software (Pension Pal).

• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Capacity to work under pressure with competing priorities and deadlines.

• Experience with Datair is preferred but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of ASC 715 and other FASB requirements is a plus.

• Membership in SOA, ASEA, AAA, or NIPA is preferred.
