Senior Actuarial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +42 more states.

📋 Description

• Contribute to financial analysis, pricing strategies, and risk evaluation to forecast outcomes.

• Assist in Value-Based Care (VBC) initiatives through contract modeling, healthcare analytics, and analysis of financial performance.

• Utilize mathematics, probability, statistics, finance, and business principles to calculate financial outcomes.

• Establish trends and baseline targets through comprehensive data analysis.

• Assess and review vendor fees and shared savings agreements.

• Generate and execute data reports.

• Identify the justifiable basis for vendor contracts and financial agreements.

• Create and sustain financial models for VBC contracts, encompassing shared savings, risk, and capitation analyses.

• Evaluate claims, vendor performance, and healthcare datasets leveraging SQL, SAS, or Python.

• Prepare financial analyses and collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendor partners, and cross-functional teams.

• Detect data inconsistencies, reporting challenges, and analytical insights; escalate issues or suggestions as necessary.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

• A combination of years of experience and the number of actuarial exams passed must equal or exceed 5 (Rule of 5).

• Experience in the actuarial field.

• Proven progress toward obtaining an actuarial credential through successful completion of actuarial examinations.

• Preferred experience in healthcare, including claims analysis and familiarity with healthcare datasets.

• Familiarity with Excel, SQL, SAS, Python, Snowflake, and/or Teradata is preferred.

• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Proficient understanding of mathematics, probability, statistics, finance principles, and business concepts.
