Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the monthly and quarterly financial reporting as well as the month-end close process for accounting.

• Create quarterly and annual financial statements, including footnotes, management discussions and analyses, along with investor reporting.

• Develop monthly financial reporting packets for internal stakeholders.

• Prepare and record monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.

• Generate journal entries related to debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.

• Examine assigned general ledger accounts for accuracy and appropriateness.

• Investigate questionable transactions, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations to Accounting Management.

• Prepare necessary correcting journal entries as needed.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

• Identify, research, and rectify account discrepancies.

• Support daily cash management and treasury reporting activities.

• Aid in the annual financial audit process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.

• 2–3 years of relevant experience and/or training.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other advanced Excel functions.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
