This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Provide essential support for national security space operations within the Spectral Solutions Enterprise.
• Assist in the daily operations of a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite equipped with an infrared payload.
• Collaborate with the primary operations team located at the Palm Bay operations facility.
• Act as a remote operational interface for data transfers, operational guidance, mission briefings, customer coordination, and the development and testing of operational products.
• Independently evaluate spacecraft and ground-system information to present technically sound operational recommendations.
• Coordinate activities among geographically dispersed operations teams, engineering organizations, and clients.
• Oversee spacecraft health and status and carry out spacecraft commanding tasks.
• Perform telemetry analysis to detect trends, off-nominal conditions, and anomalies.
• Create and implement operational plans, procedures, timelines, test plans, readiness activities, and verification events.
• Identify, troubleshoot, investigate, and assist in resolving spacecraft, payload, ground-system, and mission anomalies.
• Develop, validate, maintain, integrate, verify, and test operational products.
• Prepare and present technical and operational briefings to leadership, operators, engineers, and customers.
• Provide remote support to the primary mission operations site.
• Experience in supporting spacecraft or satellite operations, ideally in an operational command-and-control or satellite operations center environment.
• Proficiency in conducting Telemetry, Tracking & Command (TT&C) activities, including spacecraft commanding and monitoring spacecraft health and status.
• Demonstrated experience in performing telemetry analysis to identify spacecraft performance trends, off-nominal conditions, and potential anomalies.
• Background in supporting spacecraft commanding, including command preparation, validation, execution support, and post-command verification.
• Experience with LEO spacecraft operations; experience with small satellites is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in developing and supporting spacecraft operational plans, procedures, timelines, and mission activities.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and assist in resolving spacecraft, payload, ground-system, or mission anomalies.
• Capacity to interpret operational data and provide real-time or near-real-time technical and operational guidance.
• Experience in supporting operational data transfers between geographically separated sites.
• Ability to develop, validate, and maintain operational products, procedures, checklists, plans, briefings, and technical documentation.
• Experience in supporting product development, integration, verification, and testing prior to operational implementation.
• Competence in preparing and delivering technical and operational briefings.
• Ability to work effectively with a geographically distributed operations team and provide remote support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in developing and executing operational test plans, test procedures, readiness activities, and verification events.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating in a Space Operations Center (SOC) or similar operational environment executing space operations.
• Active Secret Clearance is required.
• Previous experience supporting similar on-orbit infrared satellite missions is preferred.
• Experience working directly with government clients and cross-functional engineering, operations, and program teams is preferred.
• Proficiency in developing professional presentations using Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
• Experience conducting anomaly investigations, root-cause analysis, and developing operational workarounds or corrective actions is preferred.
