This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer systems engineering assistance for the Coast Guard's digital transformation and automation efforts.
• Evaluate operational requirements and create technical recommendations that align with enterprise modernization goals.
• Assist in systems integration, requirements management, architecture development, and solution engineering tasks.
• Create systems engineering documentation, including CONOPS, requirements specifications, interface definitions, workflows, and technical evaluations.
• Aid in automation pilot assessments, feasibility studies, and implementation planning.
• Convert operational requirements and concepts of operations into traceable UAFML model artifacts.
• Develop and sustain enterprise and system architecture models in Cameo Enterprise Architecture, including diagrams, elements, and views.
• Execute model queries, validation checks, and trade studies to guide engineering choices.
• Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, data, and application development teams.
• Engage in governance boards, technical evaluations, stakeholder meetings, and program status briefings.
• Facilitate enterprise architecture alignment and integration across Coast Guard mission systems and platforms.
• Discover opportunities for process automation, workflow enhancement, and operational efficiencies.
• Assist in creating technical roadmaps, migration strategies, and implementation plans.
• Monitor project risks, dependencies, technical challenges, and integration effects.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement, technical standards establishment, and operational readiness planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 6-10 years with a master’s degree; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience in supporting complex federal IT, systems engineering, or modernization initiatives.
• Background in systems integration, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation projects.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and requirements management practices.
• OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance.
• Preferred: experience with DHS or U.S. Coast Guard programs.
• Preferred: knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), ServiceNow, Salesforce, or enterprise automation solutions.
• Preferred: familiarity with enterprise integration, digital engineering, and automation governance practices.
• Preferred: experience with MBSE, SysML, BPMN, or enterprise architecture frameworks.
