Special Education Teacher, Grades 6-12 – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with general education mentors to design and implement instructional strategies for diverse learners.

• Apply accommodations and modifications that align with student learning plans.

• Facilitate small group and differentiated instructional approaches.

• Provide direct instruction in reading, writing, math, and study skills labs.

• Develop targeted lesson plans based on the specific needs of students and progress data.

• Assist in the development of organization, executive functioning, and academic intervention skills.

• Deliver specialized Math or Language Arts/Study Skills instruction through co-teaching and lab formats.

• Ensure alignment of instruction with the general education curriculum and meet specialized learning needs.

• Monitor student progress towards academic and skill-related goals.

• Utilize data to guide instructional choices and interventions.

• Communicate student progress with internal stakeholders.

• Collaborate with academic teams and engage in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development.

• Contribute to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Special Education Teaching License in the state of Colorado.

• Resident of Colorado.

• Proven experience supporting diverse learners in educational settings.

• Ability to adapt instruction across various subject areas.

• Excellent collaboration and communication capabilities.

• Knowledge of progress monitoring and intervention strategies.

• Experience in a virtual or online learning environment is preferred.

• Experience in co-teaching within inclusive classroom settings is preferred.

• Familiarity with digital learning platforms and tools is preferred.

• Experience in supporting students with executive functioning and study skills development is preferred.

• Must be available during standard business hours and peak enrollment periods.

• Occasional participation in off-hour virtual meetings may be required.

• Occasional in-person evaluations or student support may be necessary.
