Special Education Paraprofessional – Virtual

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Conduct individualized and small group tutoring sessions tailored to student requirements.

• Facilitate general education support sessions to enhance understanding of core subjects.

• Assist students in staying aligned with their coursework and academic objectives.

• Provide support for diverse learners, including those requiring additional academic intervention.

• Aid mentors during live sessions and asynchronous learning activities.

• Help manage student engagement and participation in virtual environments.

• Offer feedback to mentors regarding student progress, areas for improvement, and successes.

• Maintain a structured, positive, and productive online classroom atmosphere.

• Monitor student attendance, engagement, and assignment completion.

• Reinforce behavioral and academic expectations consistent with Williamsburg Learning’s mentor model.

• Track student progress and ensure accurate documentation is maintained.

• Communicate effectively with mentors and internal team members about student needs.

• Assist with the scheduling and coordination of tutoring and support sessions.

• Foster supportive relationships that enhance student engagement and ownership.

• Provide encouragement and accountability aligned with leadership development objectives.

• Contribute to fostering a strong sense of connection within a virtual setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with middle or high school students in an academic, tutoring, or support role.

• Capability to conduct tutoring sessions and general education support sessions under the guidance of mentors.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple students and responsibilities at once.

• Comfort in utilizing technology and virtual learning platforms, including video conferencing and Google Workspace.

• Ability to adhere to instructional guidance and reinforce learning without being the primary instructor.

• Reliable internet access and the capability to work in a fully remote environment.

• Previous experience in facilitating tutoring sessions or academic intervention programs is preferred.

• Experience supporting students in an online or blended learning environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas, Google Classroom, or similar platforms is preferred.

• Experience working with diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, or within an MTSS framework is preferred.

• Background in classical education, Socratic methods, or discussion-based learning environments is preferred.

• Strong ability to establish rapport and accountability with students in a virtual setting is preferred.
