This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting
• Provide instruction, assistance, and mentorship while overseeing the educational process
• Focus on the unique needs of each student as outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Actively collaborate with students and parents to enhance student learning
• Ensure that special education and associated services are delivered as specified by the IEP team
• Communicate with parents and related service personnel to guarantee that students receive necessary therapies
• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-mandated special education documentation
• Facilitate and lead cooperative special education meetings, including annual IEP discussions
• Utilize resources to offer accommodations and modifications, such as assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible texts
• Adjust Stride K12 lessons and assessments in accordance with IEP specifications
• Promote student inclusion and success within the general education environment
• Gather data and work samples to assess progress towards IEP goals and objectives
• Record parent communications and student interventions
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment options
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators of any concerns related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Foster positive relationships with families and engage with students and learning coaches/parents promptly
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting challenges
• Travel for in-person professional development, student assessments, and/or school obligations
• Required: Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification
• Arizona Fingerprint Card
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active teaching license issued by the state
• Ability to pass the necessary background check
• Residency in any of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours
• Ability to collaboratively work with other educators to analyze and produce numerical, tabular, and graphical representations of student data for instructional decision-making
• Open to receiving regular coaching from administrators
• Willingness to adapt and embrace change to ensure outstanding student outcomes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
• Experience working with the specified age group
• Experience assisting adults and children with technology use
• Experience teaching in an online or traditional classroom setting
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
