Claims and Labeling Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vermont.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and revision of standards system claims, labeling policies, and related documentation.

• Draft and update criteria, conduct meetings with both internal and external stakeholders, facilitate public and targeted consultations, and finalize as well as publish documents.

• Manage compliance with the ISEAL Code and implement best practices concerning claims.

• Develop procedures, guidance, and tools that support the claims framework of the standards system.

• Collaborate with internal legislative experts to identify risks and opportunities related to legislative requirements.

• Work together with various departments and teams to assist stakeholders in the utilization of Textile Exchange trademarks and credible claims.

• Address inquiries from external stakeholders regarding claims and trademark usage through the case management system.

• Supervise team members, including setting goals, managing performance, providing coaching, and fostering professional growth.

• Lead significant projects associated with claims and labeling.

• Offer expert guidance and support for claims submission approvals.

• Enhance stakeholder comprehension and adoption via guidance, training, and educational initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in working with voluntary standards and/or verification programs.

• Strong grasp of credible sustainability claims and trademark usage in relation to certification.

• Proven experience in managing and developing staff, including performance management, coaching, and professional development.

• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, meet deadlines, and execute workplans effectively.

• Capacity to engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders on a global scale.

• Detail-oriented, logical, systematic, methodical, and exceptionally organized.

• Excellent written and grammatical skills in English for drafting technical content.

• Ability to synthesize and clearly present complex information in a meaningful way.

• Familiarity with business analytics tools such as Power BI and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.

• Strong work ethic with a high degree of autonomy; self-motivated and proactive.

• Proven interest in the vision, mission, and goals of Textile Exchange.

• Ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced remote environment, meet deadlines, and regularly share progress updates.

• Willingness to work across multiple time zones, including some overlap with North American time zones during parts of the workday.

• Experience in an international organization.

• Ability to travel occasionally for conferences, work meetings, and industry events.

• Preferred: Experience in global textile supply chains and an in-depth understanding of global supply chains and stakeholders.

• Preferred: Understanding of the Empowering Consumers Directive (ECD).

• Preferred: Experience with ISEAL-compliant schemes.
