Spanish STEM Expert, PhD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Craft expert-level scientific prompts in Spanish.

• Create content that is technically rigorous across specialized STEM subject areas.

• Utilize advanced subject-matter expertise to develop realistic scientific scenarios.

• Assess technical responses to ensure their scientific accuracy, relevance, and utility.

• Identify erroneous assumptions, terminology, mechanisms, or conclusions.

• Review and provide annotations on scientific responses according to structured criteria.

• Consistently classify prompts and conversations.

• Evaluate technical content that may involve sensitive or dual-use information.

• Implement structured guidelines concerning scientific safety considerations.

• Document the rationale behind scientific safety judgments.

• Leverage knowledge of contemporary laboratory and computational techniques within the specialized field.

• Assess scientific methods, experimental assumptions, technical workflows, terminology, and reasoning.

• Produce scientifically accurate and naturally flowing Spanish-language content.

• Evaluate specialized terminology for both linguistic and scientific accuracy.

• Clearly communicate in written English when documenting evaluation decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD completed or in progress in chemistry, biology, or a closely related STEM discipline.

• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.

• Business-level written proficiency in English.

• Extensive expertise in a specific scientific subfield.

• Strong familiarity with modern laboratory and/or computational techniques.

• Excellent scientific reasoning and meticulous attention to technical details.

• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.

• Research or coursework experience in chemical safety and security, biosafety, biosecurity, or hazardous-materials management is a plus.

• Experience in reviewing, grading, evaluating, or red-teaming technical content is advantageous.

• Prior experience with AI or machine learning is not mandatory.

• Candidates located in Spain or the broader Western Europe region are especially encouraged to apply, although applicants from other regions are also welcome.

• Work must be performed without utilizing any confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party.

• H1-B and STEM OPT support are not available for this position.
