Spanish Medical Interpreter, OPI, VRI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Provide accurate interpretation of medical terminology, diagnoses, treatments, and other information for Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers via phone and video.

• Enhance communication between doctors, nurses, medical personnel, and Spanish-speaking patients.

• Assist patients in understanding and navigating the healthcare system.

• Aid providers in recognizing cultural differences that influence patient care.

• Uphold strict patient confidentiality and comply with professional ethical standards.

• Document each interpretation session, noting the date, time, duration, and type of interpretation.

• Stay updated with medical terminology and healthcare practices.

• Complete all required onboarding and training programs.

• Log in during assigned shifts to receive calls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both Spanish and English.

• Experience in medical interpretation, translation, or transcription.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and the healthcare system.

• Excellent communication abilities, cultural awareness, and capacity to perform well under pressure.

• Minimum internet speed of 15 Mbps for both download and upload.

• Wired (Ethernet) LAN connection is required.

• A computer equipped with a 5th generation processor or higher and at least 8GB of RAM.

• A USB headset is mandatory.

• An HD webcam is required.

• A quiet, professional workspace suitable for confidential medical discussions.

• Availability to work hourly shifts in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.

• Successful completion of the final language assessment through LanguageStat is required.

• Submission of a resume and cover letter addressing fluency, interpretation experience, comfort with medical terminology, OPI/VRI availability, and workspace is mandatory.
