Sourcing Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee all strategic sourcing activities within the designated region, which includes identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, onboarding new suppliers, managing performance, and driving continuous improvement.

• Create and enhance sourcing and category management strategies that promote profitability, ensure supply continuity, and foster business growth.

• Gain proficiency in Millwood's pallet design software to assist in costing, quoting, and sourcing decisions.

• Acquire a working knowledge of Millwood's order entry and customer support systems, covering order management, customer communication, accounts receivable follow-up, and cross-functional support.

• Provide pricing assistance to Regional Sales Managers utilizing approved costing methodologies, market intelligence, and internal systems.

• Keep current pricing information updated by material and region.

• Maintain records related to suppliers, pricing, quoting, and activities in Salesforce; document supplier capabilities, visit reports, and business developments.

• Act as the main point of contact for supplier-related issues and facilitate resolutions between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Analyze procurement and market data to identify cost-saving opportunities, enhance supplier performance, benchmark spending, and support decision-making.

• Conduct monthly evaluations of customer pricing and sourcing costs, presenting recommendations to Regional Sales Managers.

• Identify, assess, negotiate with, and onboard supplier partners while maintaining a pipeline of prospective suppliers.

• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Quality, manufacturing facilities, and supplier partners on costing, quality, performance, and growth initiatives.

• Travel approximately 25% or more as required by business needs; submit vendor visit reports and Salesforce updates within 48 hours of visits.

• Support annual sourcing goals, supplier diversity initiatives, and cost savings objectives.

• Assist in developing contingency sourcing plans to mitigate disruptions and ensure supply continuity.

• Address supplier quality issues and implement corrective actions in collaboration with operations and quality teams.

• Engage in strategic planning for regional growth and profitability.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience is acceptable.

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, supplier development, or related fields.

• Proven success in supplier negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives.

• Proficiency in Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is required.

• A current and valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record and the ability to rent a vehicle.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is mandatory.

• Experience in pallet manufacturing, lumber, wood products, packaging, logistics, or industrial manufacturing environments is preferred.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and procurement data effectively.

• Demonstrated capability to build collaborative relationships across various departments and with external business partners.

• Exceptional verbal communication skills, proficient in formal and conversational English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

• Clear, concise, and professional written communication skills in English.

• Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills.

• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
