Sonic Audit Specialist, Spanish

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Conduct audits of AI training data in Spanish instead of generating it.

• Execute Multilingual Transcription Audits by listening to audio, evaluating annotator transcriptions, applying error codes, determining pass/fail results, and providing explanations.

• Carry out Forced Alignment Audits by confirming word-level segment timestamps and reference transcripts.

• Amend incorrect boundaries, either by splitting or merging segments, adding missing segments, and eliminating segments that do not contain words.

• Assign relevant error codes and articulate in straightforward language the reasoning behind each task's pass or fail status.

• Highlight critical errors first to ensure that the reasons for failure are transparent.

• Complete a brief calibration phase prior to commencing production work.

• Work with Amazon Sonic audit collections.

• Collaborate with prominent AI researchers on initiatives aimed at training and improving AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish as spoken in Spain.

• Must have been born and raised in a region where this Spanish variety is prevalent, or possess full fluency with five or more years of residency in such a region.

• Strong skills in reading and writing English.

• Capability to comprehend a detailed rulebook and provide clear audit feedback in English.

• Consistent application of written guidelines across numerous evaluations.

• Excellent listening skills, including the ability to differentiate similar sounds and word boundaries in continuous speech.

• Skill in distinguishing genuine acoustic ambiguity from clear annotator mistakes.

• Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, localization, linguistic annotation, or QA is highly desirable.

• Preferred but not mandatory: experience in AI data annotation or model evaluation.

• Preferred but not mandatory: background in phonetics or linguistics.

• Preferred but not mandatory: experience with audio editing or waveform software.

• Engagement as an independent contractor.

• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not eligible.
