Solutions Engineer – Federal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist in the technical sales process.

• Aid the sales team in technical prospecting to identify potential opportunities.

• Showcase ThousandEyes solutions, features, and use cases.

• Develop and sustain trusted-advisor technical relationships with clients.

• Provide support to customers during solution trials.

• Define and design solution deployments.

• Present findings to decision-makers during the conclusion of trial meetings.

• Engage in Solutions Engineering team activities, weekly meetings, and quarterly business review sales meetings.

• Share presentations on technical topics and successful outcomes.

• Discuss technical challenges and strategies to overcome them.

• Create and improve demonstration materials.

• Investigate technical topics that impact the industry.

• Collaborate with Marketing to support trade shows, networking events, and ThousandEyes Connect gatherings.

• Contribute to content for blogs, social media, white papers, and case studies.

• Work with Product Management and Engineering to provide feedback and suggestions for solutions.

• Engage in both internal and external solution beta programs.

• Coordinate with Customer Success for post-sales training, deployment, and support.

• Motivate customers to utilize Customer Success as an extension of their NOC.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Solutions Engineering.

• Proven experience selling to US Federal clients.

• Familiarity with application and network protocols, including HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and BGP.

• Background in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting application and network infrastructure.

• Experience with unified communications technologies or solutions.

• Preferred: background in application and network performance analysis solutions.

• Preferred: experience in packet analysis of network and application protocols.

• Preferred: proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, or JavaScript.

• Preferred: experience in troubleshooting and supporting Apple, Linux, and Microsoft operating systems.

• Preferred: experience in delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to both technical and business audiences.
