Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create robotic solutions tailored for warehouse and fulfillment operations.

• Collaborate with Sales and both prospective and existing clients to comprehend their operations, analyze data, formulate system concepts, and demonstrate the advantages of Robust.AI's AMR, Carter, for their business.

• Develop solutions throughout the sales process, from initial discovery and site assessments to system design, simulation, proposal creation, and technical validation.

• Evaluate customer operational data, including order profiles, SKU profiles, throughput demands, and labor efficiency.

• Design AMR workflows, facility layouts, cart configurations, labor requirements, productivity forecasts, and operational descriptions.

• Construct and examine discrete-event simulations to verify system performance, assess design alternatives, identify bottlenecks, and assist in fleet sizing.

• Create and modify warehouse layouts using AutoCAD.

• Engage in customer discovery calls, technical discussions, site assessments, and facility walkthroughs.

• Detect missing or inconsistent data, develop engineering assumptions, and document inputs and methodologies behind recommendations.

• Collaborate with Sales on proposals, presentations, ROI analyses, and materials that communicate operational and business value.

• Assist in customer demonstrations, technical assessments, and sales-process interactions.

• Work alongside Product, Software, Deployment, and Engineering teams on technical requirements, product capabilities, implementation considerations, and solution risks.

• Enhance internal analytical tools, simulation models, and processes.

• Oversee multiple customer projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and business demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical discipline.

• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities, capable of handling large and imperfect real-world datasets.

• 1–4 years of experience in industrial engineering, supply chain, warehouse operations, automation, data science, or a similar field.

• Proficient in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Python, SQL, or Power BI.

• Capability to effectively communicate technical concepts, assumptions, and analytical outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Understanding of warehouse or manufacturing operations, including material flow, throughput, capacity, and labor efficiency.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software for facility design.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to travel up to 20–30% for customer site visits, proposal evaluations, demonstrations, and post-deployment support.

• Experience with warehouse automation technologies, including AMRs, AGVs, goods-to-person systems, conveyors, sortation systems, or other material-handling technologies.

• Knowledge of discrete-event simulation software, preferably FlexSim.

• Strong Python skills for data processing, visualization, simulation, optimization, or development of engineering tools.

• Familiarity with warehouse optimization strategies such as batch picking, zoning, order clustering, SKU slotting, and labor planning.

• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse control systems (WCS), and other logistics software.

• Experience in developing automation concepts, productivity models, capacity models, or ROI analyses.

• Direct experience working with customers in a technical, consulting, pre-sales, or project context.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is advantageous.
