This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Transform identified customer opportunities into effective technical solutions showcasing Code Metal's technology in real-world applications.
• Collaborate with customer engineers and stakeholders to grasp development requirements, system limitations, and success criteria, then devise actionable implementation strategies.
• Explore new technical domains through practical prototyping, integration, and feasibility assessments.
• Lead the creation of proofs of concept alongside Solutions Architects, product teams, engineering, and customer representatives.
• Implement intricate algorithms and compute-intensive pipelines on GPUs, FPGAs, and edge systems utilizing Code Metal's platform.
• Analyze, debug, and optimize PoCs and initial deployments for latency, throughput, memory, and power across diverse computing environments.
• Troubleshoot CPU/GPU/FPGA systems encompassing algorithms, software, hardware, and toolchains.
• Leverage PoCs and technical demonstrations to showcase Code Metal's unique product advantages to clients.
• Document reusable code, integration frameworks, and playbooks derived from successful PoCs.
• Assist in early integration and validation, collaborating with Forward Deployed Engineers during the transition to sustained deployment or production.
• Work in partnership with Solutions Architecture, Forward Deployed Engineering, product, core engineering, research, and growth teams, incorporating technical insights into the platform and customer strategies.
• Code Metal is transforming code translation for mission-critical sectors, enabling defense partners to transition from algorithms to silicon more swiftly and reliably.
• Solid foundation in computer science, systems engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Capability to swiftly comprehend unfamiliar domains and translate new technical knowledge into practical experiments and implementations.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to decompose problems, and hands-on prototyping expertise.
• Proven track record of debugging intricate systems that span software and hardware boundaries.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to clearly convey implementation trade-offs and technical outcomes to clients and internal teams.
• Self-motivated individual who can function independently and effectively in dynamic, ambiguous settings.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client locations as required (estimated 10%-20% travel).
• Senior track: 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Staff track: 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Principal track: 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Active U.S. security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) or eligibility to acquire one.
• U.S. Citizenship may be necessary for specific project assignments requiring security clearance.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Extensive cross-domain software experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, Rust, Python, Verilog/VHDL, MATLAB, CUDA/OpenCL.
• Practical experience with GPU programming, FPGA development, or embedded/edge systems.
• Familiarity with compute-intensive tasks such as DSP, RF, communications, or computer vision.
• Experience in designing or architecting complex technical systems.
